For any of you gear geeks out there, I just picked up a Splawn Super Comp and it KILLS. This is Splawn's single channel version of the Nitro head.
I was digging the Quick Rod and wasn't sure if the Super would be overkill. Plus it's a single channel head so I was curious about being able to get the cleans I need. But those KT88s are pushing air and tone all day.
As for cleans, I just do the old Les Paul Rhythm pickup volume around 3-4 and she cleans up real nice. With a flick of the selector I'm back to the heavy.
The amp arrived yesterday and I dialed in a tone and rocked through a great rehearsal. So much so I'm taking the new head on the road. for our mini tour with Kung Fury: DC-Philly-NYC.
